Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find some of the most frequently asked questions about our signposting and telephone triage skills training courses for clinical and non-clinical staff, including GPs and receptionists.
If you have any other queries, or would like to learn more about our courses, please contact us directly.
We offer telephone skills training for anyone who comes into contact with patients over the telephone. This includes care navigation and signposting training for GP receptionists and other non-clinical staff.
We provide separate telephone triage training for clinicians including GPs, consultants, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.
Our training courses can be delivered either in-house (classroom based) anywhere in the UK, Ireland and internationally, or as remote-learning virtual online courses via platforms such as Zoom (arranged by Telelearning).
In-house training may require additional costs but we do not usually charge for mileage. Further details will be given on enquiry.
Prices for classroom-based training start at £995 (+VAT) for 15 delegates. Remote telephone triage training is £150 (+VAT) per person.
Full details of all costs for bookings will be given on enquiry. Please note that Telelearning's fees are based on group sizes and not individual delegate costs.
On completion of our courses, all delegates will receive a certificate of attendance. Please note, this is not a certificate of competency however. Courses delivered via the RCGP are accredited by the RCGP when booked directly through their event programmes.
All our courses are delivered by managing director Sally-Anne Pygall, one of the UK's leading experts in telephone triage and signposting training.
Sally-Anne has more than 30 years’ experience as a senior manager in the area of telephone triage/consultation work in Primary Care and unscheduled care provision (including out of hours services).
She offers unrivalled experience and knowledge in training and consultancy services for telephone health care and has worked in the private and public sector, as well as social enterprise organisations.
Sally-Anne regularly trains on behalf of the RCGP, as well as deaneries across the UK.
As one of the leading experts in telephone triage and consultations in the UK, Telelearning managing director Sally-Anne Pygall's book ‘Telephone Triage and Consultation: Are we Really Listening?’ is recommended for further reading. Originally published by the RCGP, this guidebook addresses the preparation, underlying principles and stages in telephone triage and consultations from beginning to end, including when to conclude safely.
